Seven
years ago, working as a model maker, Ilan Wolberger became frustrated
with the materials available. Being of entrepreneurial spirit, Ilan set
out to find a paper mill that would be able to produce a sheet material that would be easy to cut
and sand. Another prerequisite was to create a product that is manufactured with sound
ecological materials and practices. Taskboard was born 18 months later and now is available in more than 270 stores. Most of which are independent art stores. With feedback from our growing customer base, we found out that Taskboard can be formed with steam or water. (see our How-to guide) and can be glued with hot glue, white glue, spray adhesive, and most any glue. Regarding our eco footprint, The timberlands that are owned by our paper mill are not freely exploited. Instead, sustainable forestry provides the basis for their operations. Replanting, good forest management and long-term planning are the norm. Since the 1992 UN Earth Summit meeting in Rio, the concept of sustainability has broadened. This is reflected in a revised forestry policy that went into effect in 1994. Today sustainable forestry must preserve biological diversity. Taskboard's mill conforms to these standards completely. Also, the whitening process used when making Taskboard is the industry's most ecofriendly process. This process known as TCF (Totally chlorine free). This process does not use chlorine compounds for whitening. This prevents the formation of dioxin, a highly carcinogenic pollutant. As we believe that advertising increases the cost of products and is basically intrusive, we ask that you spread the word once you tried and truly liked working with Taskboard. Thank you for taking the time to learn about our product; if you have any questions, do call us!
