Forming Taskboard can
be done dry, wet or with steam.
Dry forming works well for wide curves or parts
that will be glued to a structure. rolling Taskboard on a round object
that is smaller than the intended curve is easy and can even be done by
children.
Forming
with steam is best for tight curves,
and for the structural stability of the part
Wroking with steam should be done
slowly, with great care and only by responsible
adults. One should bend a larger piece than
needed to avoid burns and for better control.
Taskboard has a flex direction, so one should find out whether the
length or the width is easier to flex. The easy flex direction will be
the forming direction too for tighter curves and bends,
Jigs and templates significantly help to set the desired shape just
before cooling, but forming itself should be done in the steam source
The most common
source of steam can be found in Walgreen’s in the form
of an electric kettle, like this one at Kmart.
Forming some 3d
shapes can be done when wet, in most climates drying over night.
